Remember
a fever is one of the signs that a child is ill. You should
consult a doctor if the child appears unusually ill or the
fever persists for more than 48 hours. If your child does
have a fever, there are several things you can do to control
it.
Treatment
A
child loses heat through his skin. If your child feels hot,
take off most of their clothes. Do not wrap him up because
this will raise his temperature. Loose cotton clothing is
advisable.
Give plenty of cold drinks. Frequently a child with fever
does not feel hungry plenty of fluids will prevent dehydration,
may reduce temperature and will make a child feel a lot more
comfortable.
